Ed Owusu (Teddy) is a Georgia-based artist dedicated to the preservation and modern evolution of his Ghanaian heritage. Growing up in Ghana, he was immersed in a landscape of rich traditions that shaped his creative lens; as a young boy, he found his spark by transforming anything visually inspiring in his environment into art.
Today, his work is an exploration of texture and dimension. Specializing in handmade African décor, Teddy bridges the gap between ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary sophistication.
From the intricate geometry of genuine sourced artisan beadwork to the bold, sculptural presence of his 3D masks and heavily textured acrylics, every piece is a hand-wrought tribute to the culture that raised him.
TEDDYOCREATIONS

My process is a dialogue between the past and the present. I utilize Masks and the Adinkra - visual symbols of the Asante people of Ghana that represent philosophical proverbs. Patterns that have survived generations dating back to the 19th century, traditionally used by royalty.
I am reimagining them through a lens of modern luxury and grand-format scale. In a world of digital flat-screens and mass-produced décor, I am committed to Handmade works for art. Every crest in the Plaster of Paris, every bead selected, and every stroke of heavy-body acrylic is an intentional act of preservation.
If you have a project in mind or just want to say hi, feel free to get in touch with me. I am always open to new opportunities and collaborations.
